A TRADITIONAL \"SCHOOL IN SCHOOL\" TOURNAMENT HELD IN NOVI SAD<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A record 197 participants!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Organized by the \"Dnevnik\" Chess Club, with the technical support of the \"Capablanca 1992\" Children's Chess Club and in cooperation with the Novi Sad Chess Association and the Novi Sad Chess Club, the 26th \"Chess in Schools\" children's tournament was held in Novi Sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The competition was held at the \"Nikola Tesla\" Elementary School, and gathered a record 197 participants from all over Vojvodina, Belgrade and the region. In addition to the mass, the tournament was also extremely high-quality, because the most talented children from well-known chess schools from Pancevo, Subotica, Sombor and Apatin, then \u010curug, Aradac, Ba\u010dka Palanka, Belgrade, Batajnica...<\/p>\n\n\n\n The tournament was held under the auspices of the Administration for Sports and Youth of Novi Sad, and was supported by School teacher Jasmina Cvijan made sure that everything went smoothly. As always, BB Minakwa helped. In the oldest competition (grades 5-8) it was particularly tense, because \u0106uzovi\u0107 after the victory over
Chess Association of Vojvodina. The tournament was attended by the director of the school Igor Mili\u0107evi\u0107, the famous athlete Pavle Baj\u010deti\u0107, the president of the Novi Sad Chess Club Krasoje Notaro\u0161, and after the welcome speech by \u017deljko Medar, the creator of the tournament in 1990, the president of the Chess Association of Novi Sad Svetlana Stojadinov addressed the participants. The main referee of the tournament, Miodrag Stankovi\u0107, explained the rules, and the tournament was opened by Slobodan Jakovljevi\u0107, president of \u0160K Dnevnik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prestige of the tournament is perhaps best explained by the fact that children who no longer play in children's tournaments participated in it, such as Nikola Leskovac and Ognjen \u0106uzovi\u0107, participants in the senior final tournament of the 90th championship of Novi Sad, which is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leskovac easily entered a duel with the youngest participant in the group, Leonid Ivanovic, and lost. According to his age, Leonid could play in the youngest group (he is in the first grade) and before the end of the round he led the tournament, and then Leskovac beat him and thus won the winner's cup. And the three-time consecutive champion of Vojvodina in the lower categories, Konstantin Mandra\u0161, decided to try out in the older group instead of being the main favorite in the lower category, but he was \"only\" eighth.
In the older group of girls, Emilija Vugdali\u0107 from Novi Sad won, who, thanks to the victory in the mutual duel, also left behind Teodora Jaukovi\u0107 from Novi Sad. The third was Milica Amid\u017ei\u0107 from Pancevo.
In the younger group of boys, Andrej Dobri\u010dan from Pancevo won, Milo\u0161 \u0160evo from \u010curug was second, and Mihajlo Stojanovi\u0107, Gavrilo Milanovi\u0107 and Mihajlo Bili\u0107 shared the third place.
In the case of younger girls, Nora Joci\u0107 from Pancevo won ahead of Milena Babi\u0107 from \u010curug and Aria Ratkovi\u0107 from Novi Sad.
In the youngest group, first graders and preschoolers (girls and boys together) played, and Aleksandr Klekovkin from Russia, living in Belgrade, won with all seven victories. Second was Andrej Braji\u0107 from Backa Palanka, and third was Stefan Predarski from Novi Sad. Helena Vujasi\u0107 was the most successful girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
