The Chess Union of Novi Sad in cooperation with Novi Sad chess club organizes every month Open championship of Novi Sad in rapid individual chess for current month. Time control is 10 minutes per player plus 5 seconds for each move, seven rounds with Swiss pairings. Tournaments are FIDE rated and played with FIDE rules. Championship for month May was held on Friday, 13th of May, 2022. in the premises of the NŠK at street Nikola Pašić 26 in Novi Sad. All interested players had the right to play. Prize funds was formed from registration fees and divided into four regular prizes and one special prize for the best placed unrewarded player under 2000 rating points for accelerated chess.
First place with 6 points from 7 rounds won Mirza Avdić, second place with 5.5/7 took IM Dejan Leskur, and third place also with 5.5/7, but with little weaker additional criteria was Rounaiv RanaForth place won Novi Sad's young hope Nikola Leskovac with 5/7, and the price for the best unrewarded player under 200 rating points for rapid chess was won by IM Ramoutar Alan-Safar also with 5/7.
