INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OF NOVI SAD U2400

The Chess Federation of Novi Sad is organizing the „International Championship of Novi Sad U2400“ from 22nd to 24th of June, 2026, at hotel “Putnik”, Ilije Ognjanovica 24, Novi Sad.

The tournament will be held as part of chess festival that includes championships in classical, rapid and blitz chess.

• Junior chess: 21st of June, starting at 13.00
• Rapid chess: 21st of June, starting at 18.30
• Classic chess: from 22nd to 24th of June
• Blitz chess: 25th of June, starting at 10.30

All players rated below 2400 and unrated players are eligible to participate. The official FIDE rating list as of 1st of June, 2026, for standard chess will be used for eligibility.

The championship will be played according to the Swiss system in six (6) rounds with computer pairing. The time control is 60 minutes per player with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
The tournament will follow FIDE rules for standard chess and will be FIDE-rated. A player may miss two games in the first four rounds, with prior notice to the arbiter, and receive half a point

Registration fee:

Grandmasters and international masters free of charge but only for those who register by 5th of June, 2026. After that, the entry fee is 1500 RSD..
Players rated over 2300 ELO: entry fee: 2000 RSD.
Players rated 2100 – 2299 ELO: 3500 RSD.
Players rated 1800 – 2099: 4000 RSD
Players rated below 1800 and unrated: 5000 RSD.

If a club registers and pays the entry fees for at least three of its members before 5th of June, it is entitled to a 20% discount; if this is done before 15th of May, an additional 10% discount on the payment is granted.

The organizer provides chess equipment for the tournament. The games will be played in an air-conditioned room.
