A day dedicated to chess and friendship: 89 children at the tournament

Chess is an excellent game for elementary school children because it develops concentration, logical thinking, and patience. At the same time, chess teaches children fair play, decision-making, and responsibility.

As part of the Chess Festival organized by the Serbian Chess Federation - International Championship of Novi Sad, tournaments for juniors were organized and took place on Sunday, June 21st at the "Putnik" hotel in Novi Sad, immediately after the Junior League of Vojvodina.

There were 89 participants who were divided into 5 groups:

🏆 The most successful in each group were awarded cups, medals, diplomas and books.
The champions in the primary school categories also won a voucher for a one-day workshop at the Logiscool programming school - a place where children discover innovative digital tools through fun.
While the champion in the secondary school category won a chessboard and wooden chess pieces. The youngest participants of the tournament also received a small token of attention.

The game was played in 7 rounds according to the Swiss system, except in the older girls' group where Berger was played in 7 rounds. The time control was 10 minutes + 3 seconds per move from the first move. The tournaments were rated by FIDE for rapid chess.
