"A few days ago, on February 2 to be exact, the final results of the ISC (International Chess Problem Solving Competition), held on January 21 simultaneously in 25 countries around the world, were announced. The competition took place in three groups: in A group with a rating above 2000 points, in B group with a rating below 2000, and in C group in which cadets born after 12/31/2010 competed in the official competition.

Among the Serbian competitors, the greatest success was achieved by the junior from Novi Sad, FM Dejan Omorjan He won with 50 points second place in the overall ranking in the B rated group, а истовремено је најбољи јуниор, so he won two awards. It is at the same time, after several years of break, his successful return to the problem scene. I remind you that Dejan Omorjan is a FIDE master in active chess, and currently works as a children's chess coach.
This year, the Serbian veterans did not completely repeat the great success of the previous year, when they took the first three veteran positions by winning the fourth to sixth place. Živan Šušulić, composer and problem solver, is the best veteran in Group B with 45 points and sixth place. Milan Simić was in tenth place with 37 points, thus winning the second veteran award. Slobodan Bojković, the author of this text, due to circumstances, performed without any preparation and with 33 points he is in 17th place, so this time he was left without veteran recognition.
Encourages 14-year-old participation Aleksandar Kutanjac, the winner of the Cadet B League in 2023. See the link http://www.perpetualcheck.com/problem/20240112.pdf With 30 points won (50% of the possible), he took a solid 23rd place in the overall ranking. Veteran Nikola Nikolić is 33rd with 29 points, Matija Lojović is 39th with 25.5 points, veteran Milomir Babić is 41st with 25 points, Ivan Marjanović is 56th with 22 points and Marko Marjanović is 152nd with 8.5 points. 236 participated in the B group. competitors, at least for the last 70, it can be said that they have no experience and that's why they solved poorly.
We had only five representatives in the strongest A group. The best was Bojan Vučković, grandmaster in standard and problem-solving chess, who is 16th with 43.5 points won, Miodrag Mladenović, grandmaster composer and solver is 20th with 43 points, IM Vladimir Podinić is 30th with 39 points , Marko Ložajić is 60th with 27.5 points and Zoran Sibinović is 105th with 17.5 points won. A total of 170 solvers competed, and at least 40 solvers could be said to have chosen too strong a group for their level of chess problem solving.
The success of the youngest Serbian solvers

Children under 13 competed in the unrated C group. He looks forward to the success of the 12-year-old Vera Vujović, winners of the Cadet B League of Serbia in the women's competition. With a maximum of 30 points, but with a longer solving time, she is tenth in the overall ranking, where she won second place among girls. I remind you that last year Vera became the youngest female FIDE master in Serbia, that at the European Championship in Slovenia she won a gold medal in rapid chess and a silver medal in rapid chess, and that due to missing the victory in the penultimate round at the European Championship in Romania, she missed the fight for the gold medal in standard chess.
и 85. месту. Даљи пласман учесника видети на сајту https://solving.matplus.net/isca?st=2&ex=1&c=0&l=0 238 solvers under the age of 13 participated, and 170 won at least 5 points.
It is encouraging that after only two solvers at the ISC competition in 2022 and seven in 2023, this year there were 23 solvers from Serbia under the age of 13. And that in terms of numbers, we convincingly hold the second place behind the Russian cadets. And all that, despite dissuading some chess coaches from solving the problem, not realizing the benefits of the children's parents and accepting the coach's advice. Because if only 10% of the time devoted to standard chess and blitz games were devoted to problem chess, the results would be better not only in chess, but also in all other fields of children's activities. See Memories 5 of 1/13/2023 in the "Reports" section http://www.perpetualcheck.com/show/new.php?lan=cp&data=1652 on the "Eternal Chess" website.
Since this round counted for the Cadet League of Serbia, there were 10 solvers in the unofficial competition of Group C. The most successful was Boško Stefanović (BG) with 29 points, followed by: Lazar Batica from Novi Banovac (NB) with 27.5 points, Mila Radenković (NB) with 24 points, Uroš Zarić (NS) and Nikola Rajčević (AR) with 21 points, Lazar Girgis (NB) with 19 points, Marija Jeftić (BG) with 17 points, Ognjen Dimitrijević (NS) with 15 points, etc. All results can be found on the "Eternal Chess" website in the Problems section. http://www.perpetualcheck.com/problem/index.php?lan=cp There are also problems and solutions from the ISC competition, the Cadet League of Serbia, and beyond.
Given that we already have a larger number of younger children, and that the same problems are being solved, for the sake of incentives for advancement, we distinguish two age groups: up to 12 and over 12 years old. In the group of boys up to 12 years old, the Novi Sad players dominate: Aljoša Radošević with 23 points, Ognjen Radić with 18 and Konstantin Mandraš with 16 points, while Stefan Relić from Aradac has 15 points. And among the girls, Anđela Markov from Aradac is by far the best with 20 points, followed by Milica Vujičić (BG) with 10 points.
The results from the ISC competition in all three groups, and not only them, can be seen on the website MatPlus.Net, which for years enthusiastically hosts the IM FIDE for chess composition and the international referee Borislav Gađanski from Zrenjanin. And in this tricky, polarized and turbulent time, the president of the WFCC federation for chess composition and solving chess problems is Marjan Kovačević, a double grandmaster - composer and solver of chess problems."
