Општинско такмичење новосадских основних школа у шаху за школску 2023/2024. годину (појединачно и екипно) одржало се 2. марта у ОШ “Прва војвођанска бригада” у Новом Саду.
Први део такмичења сачивали су појединанични турнири по разредима од 1. до 8. посебно за дечаке и посебно за девојчице. Након овог дела одиграно је и Екипно првенство основних школа Новог Сада.
На појединачном делу учествовало је преко 230 деце, а заједно са учесницима са екипног такмичење оборен је рекорд од преко 250 ђака који су били део овог тамичења. С обзиром на скорашње вести Министарства за унапређивање васпитања и образовања да се шах уврштава у програм слободних наставних активности за 5. и 6. разред, овај рекордан број младих учесника потврђује заинтересованост младих у новосадској општини.
Прво троје најбоље пласираних из сваке категорије стекло је право учешћа на Окружном такмичењу основних школа – Јужнобачки округ за школску 2023/2024. годину
Тачни датуми, места и времена одржавања окружног такмичења биће благовремено објављени на сајту ШСНС.

The goal of the competition is to popularize chess and raise the quality of education.
The goals of the competition are:
a) evaluation of the level of acquired knowledge, skills, skills and abilities of students;
b) ranking of students' achievement levels.
The competition levels are:

The competition consists of two parts:
1. Individual competition
2. Team competition
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION
Individual competition, for each class, at all levels has two separate groups; for male and female students.
TEAM COMPETITION
The team competition is played on 6 boards; at least 2 female students and at least 2 male students.
The first 2 boards are played by male students, the last 2 are played by female students, and the third and fourth are free to choose.
The team can have 3 reserves; two reserves for the first four boards and one reserve for the last two boards.
A team can start a match if a minimum of 3 team members are present.
It is played according to FIDE rules; One impossible move is allowed, and the game is lost on the second. The duration of the game in the competition is 15 minutes per player (if it is possible to enable digital clocks, then the tempo of the game is 10min+5sec), 7 rounds. 3 match points are awarded for a team win, and 1 match point for a draw.
