The Novi Sad Chess Federation is organizing the Novi Sad Amateur Championship 2026 - U2400 from November 22 to 28 at the Hotel Putnik in Novi Sad.
The Chess Association of Novi Sad is pleased to invite players to participate in the Amateur Championship of Novi Sad U2400, an open chess tournament for players of all ages and federations. Participation is open to players with a FIDE Standard rating below 2400, according to the November 2026 FIDE Rating List, as well as unrated players.
The time control is 60 minutes per player plus a 30-second increment per move, played over 9 rounds using the Swiss system. The tournament is FIDE-rated for standard chess. Each participant is entitled to request a bye—awarded as ½ point—up to two times during the first five rounds. The request must be submitted to the chief arbiter before the conclusion of the preceding round, specifically before the pairings are made.
Prizes are indivisible; in the event of a tie, the following tie-break criteria apply in order: Median-Buchholz, Buchholz, direct encounter, Sonneborn-Berger, and drawing of lots.
