The Novi Sad Rapid Chess Championship for July 2026 took place within the Chess Festival Novi Sad International Championship U2400 June 21st at the “Putnik” hotel in Novi Sad. The tournament will be played according to the Swiss system, with computer pairing in 8 rounds. The game tempo was 10 minutes + 3 seconds per move, starting from the first.
The tournament featured 32 competitors from 8 countries, including 15 international chess title holders. First place with 6.5/8 was won by GM Atalik Suat, second place also with 6.5/8 CM Borshch Alexei , while third place was taken by IM Subhayan Kundu 6/8.

CHESS ASSOCIATION OF NOVI SAD organizes every month an individual open Novi Sad rapid chess championship for the current month. Time control is 10 minutes per player + 3 seconds per move, seven rounds according to the Swiss system. The tournaments are RATED by FIDE. All interested chess players and chess fans are welcome. If someone does not have a FIDE rating, by participating in one tournament they will be assigned a FIDE number and have the opportunity, if they meet the necessary criteria, to receive a rating in the same.
